Hey, I’m Aline! (uh-lee-nay) AKA Nay. I was born in São Paulo, Brazil and grew up in Houston, Texas. I’m a portrait photographer, school photographer, model, content creator, and animal enthusiast. I wear many hats and love to explore different hobbies!
Speed round? I’m obssesed with pink and green (hence my brand colors). My big 3— Cancer sun, Libra rising, Gemini moon. I’m trilingual (English, Portuguese, and Spanish.) I have 7 tarantulas, a scorpion, 3 snakes, a cat, and my plants (yes those are my babies too). Some things I enjoy doing include poorly singing and dancing, learning new skills and hobbies, being artsy and crafty, and exploring nature!
My timeline/journey:
I got my first DSLR camera in 2014 and mainly photographed self portraits. I liked to think of myself as a “model-tographer”. In the beginning I loved bringing my camera with me everywhere I went. Capturing landscapes, buildings, bugs, flowers, etc. Once I started high school I would photograph for friends and for various school events— this is where my love for photographing people began. When I started my first job at a character entertainment company I would often photograph events and character portraits for the company. (I also used to play Moana!) This job showed me how much I love working with children.
After getting tattoos I could no longer ‘princess’ so I switched to babysitting and started working in a Montessori preschool. I got Montessori certified and taught a toddler class for a few years. When holidays would come around, I’d photograph my students to send home a sweet gift to their parents.
From 2020-2022 I worked as an elementary school paraprofessional and I started accepting clients! This was a major turning point for me!! I realized that photography was more than a hobby to me. I fell in love with portraits, and the process of photographing and creating. So I started taking my photography more seriously. I knew I wanted turn this into a business.
I invested my time and money into upgrading my gear and software, refining my skills, building my experience, building relationships with clients, and learning anything and everything I could!!! This is also when i started defining my ‘niche or style’ and working towards perfecting it. My goal was for someone to look at a photograph and recognize it’s mine.
In 2022 I decided it was time to commit to being a creative. I started up and registered my portrait photography business, took on collabs and modeling gigs, and started my current day job as a school portrait photographer!
I’ve been living as a full time creative ever since.
I’d describe my portraits as dreamy, timeless, and polished. I love to focus on the face, and capturing one’s essence. I thrive shooting outdoors in natural light. Indoors I like to play around with cool lights and props. My favorite types of shoots include styled shoots, fashion shoots, and boudoir. However I do work with subjects of all genres— families, pets, couples, graduates, moms-to-be, models, business owners, content creators, etc!
